The International Festival for Business took place in Liverpool in 2014, and Invest North East England took space as a chance to showcase all that the region has to offer.
Working with Newcastle Gateshead Initiative, we developed a stand that focused on the region’s industry strengths, with advanced manufacturing; science and pharmaceuticals; software and financial, professional and business services. Among the areas covered.
The stand represented the first coming-together of the seven local authorities making up the North East LEP footprint. With no brand guidelines in place, we were able to develop a style for the stand, using black, white and grey colourways to make the green of the lime of the Invest North East England branding stand out more. We also created a full colour header banner – with North East icon landscapes – that was back-lit for maximum effect, something we featured in the MIPIM 2014 stand too. The effect was a high-impact, eye-catching stand that punched above its weight in terms of attracting people at the conference.
The use of iPads and TV screens, in a similar way to MIPIM, helped to engage people at the exhibition, and our support in sourcing locally produced alcoholic drinks at no cost, and prizes for a business card draw helped to attract people to come and learn more about the area.
